What We Do

Court of Protection Help offers guidance and support through each stage of the Court of Protection process. Here’s how we can assist you:

  • Deputyship Application: We help you apply to become a deputy, giving you legal authority to manage the financial affairs and property decisions of someone who lacks mental capacity. This includes handling their bills, property, and financial responsibilities.
  • Permission to Buy or Sell Property: If the person lacks capacity to make decisions about buying or selling property, we assist in securing the necessary permission from the Court of Protection, ensuring all transactions are managed in their best interests.
  • Emergency Orders: In urgent situations, we can help you apply for an emergency court order to protect the person’s assets or make crucial welfare decisions.
  • Accommodation Orders: We assist with applications to secure accommodation or make living arrangements that best support the person’s wellbeing, especially if they need to move into more suitable housing or care settings.
  • General Permission Orders: If specific decisions need to be made that fall outside a deputy’s existing powers, we support you in applying for general permission from the court to ensure the person’s needs are met.

Steps in Your Application Process & Pricing:

  1. Pay nothing to get started.
  2. Complete Questionnaire
  3. Onboarding Video Call: Finalise the information with a caseworker.
  4. Mental Capacity Form (COP3): We will complete this form for you to forward to the Assessor.
  5. Form Preparation: We will prepare the remaining forms for your e-signature.
  6. Fee Remission: Complete the remission form if the incapable person qualifies.
  7. Application Submission: We will submit the entire application to the Court.
  8. Deposit Invoice: After the application is accepted and under review, we will issue a deposit invoice for £421 (VAT included).

  • Official review: ~8 weeks (although the process often takes 6-9 months overall).
